These works start with more-or-less randomly placed fabric shapes. The addition of intentional (non-random) stitching suggests new ways of seeing the original shapes.
In these experiments with curved lines, the stitching - either by hand or machine - is a critical part of the design.
This series is like a formal, rhyming poem: there is a structure which each piece must conform to. However, within that structure, any theme or material is allowed. Each piece becomes a unique work.
